The QSL card finally arrived from the printer and we have already started to confirm all the QSL card direct requests. We hope that during this month of april all those who have requested it directly will receive the QSL card at your QTH.

We remid you that in order to cover the shipping costs, at least, it is necessary to send 1 $ ó 1 IRC for EU and 2 $ ó 1 IRC for outside EU. All those request with insuficient funds will be confirmed via bureau.

16-01-2007 - 23:00z:

The expedition will end at 00:00z with more than 17000 QSOs logged.
They are tired, have been seven hard days of 24 hours/day of non-stop operation. And, at the same time, they are happy since in spite of the bad propagation, they have been able to be “new one” for a lot of operators and helped to fill bands/modes to the rest.

The team really wish to thanks all the people that has contact with S21XA, but soon will be time to come back to home.

15-01-2007 - 19:00z:

The conditions remain being poor. The noise is about S5 all the time, but when the band is open, the work is easier.

Just one day to turn down and they will try to have the maximun benefit.
Tonight they will be again on 160 & 80Mts only CW, due to the noise, to operate in SSB will be to lose the time.

14-01-2007 - 17:00z:

The conditions are terribly poor and they try to take advantage of all the openings towards EU and NA since with JA there are better conditions.

Today they has been working EU mainly from 12:00z and tomorrow they will repeat it.

About SA, this afternoon they has maded a lot of contacs and tomorrow they will be QRV for him on 7005 at 20:30 z.

As far as 80 and 160Mts, the stations are operative but they have only been able to make a QSO, with XU, in 160Mt, neither with JA.

At 19:00z Fer will be on 1829Khz+/- qrm listening 1830-1835 for EU.

13-01-2007 - 19:00z:

This mornig they has been calling and working a lot of SA stations.
Today has been the first one with a good propagation on 15Mts. SSB beaming to EU, they hope that this is a good signal and the propagation will improve.They are always kind to all the possible openings that can have. They have call on 160Mts but with no success, anyway they will try it again every day untill the end of the expedition: the antennas must run!

About the political situation, it seems that it has improved enough, the curfew is over and the streets of Dhaka are quiet and calm.

12-Jan-2007 - 19:00z:

They have surpassed the 7500 contacts, but the propagation and their reception are not very good, they have quiet noise in the bands. Tony, EA2PA, has upload some photos to the S21xa's blog. Today at 00:00z they have made more stations from the west coast and tomorrow they will do it again, they do not know if in SSB or CW. About 12:00z they have had an opening towards USA in 30 and 17Mts. Today they have begun its activity in RTTY, working a lot of JA stations, and also from EU and OC. Therefore from this moment they have three stations on the air except during the night because the conditions are no good and the one of RTTY that will not be active. They have already installed the 160Mts's kit, reason why tonight they will begin to test it.The situation in the country is quite unstable, the elections anticipated for the 22nd of January has been putted off due to scrambled and some dead. There are strikes and a curfew has been declared from 23:00 to the 05:00 local time.
They are well, have not seen anything "strange" in the neighbourhood of the hotel, the TV offers quite impressive images and the local newspapers inform into which they can due a censorship on all mass media.

They hope an improvement of the situation before they leave the country.

11-Jan-2007 - 13:00z:

Finally we have the first batch of logs. At the time you are reading these lines they have more than 5000 in their logs. They have set-up the following antennas: C3 (10-12-15-17-20Mts), C3SS (10-12-15-17-20Mts), a vertical HF2V (40-80Mts), a Cushcraft dipole (12-17-30), an Alfa-Eco dipole (12-17Mts) and a 4 elements for 6Mts. As soon as posible they will add the 160Mts. kit for the HF2V and also a long wire for the same band. The CW station is running with only 100Watts, the linear amplifier is QRT. They still have no internet access from the shack, they are sending the info from a ciber powered by fuel-engine, if they can enough time they will send some pictures.Today at 00:00Z on 20Mts, they have worked a lot of NA-west coast stations, they will be listening there again tomorrow at the same time but alternating SSB/CW. Also at 23:00z on 40Mts.

They have no big problem working EU and JA despite the signals are weak, and ask a little bit of calm, they will be there until 16 of January and they have 2 stations 24hours on the air.

10-Jan-2007 - 19:00z:

All the antennas and rigs are running perfectly, but the propagation is not enough good as they wish. As soon as they have internet conexion, they will try to send the first batch of logs and more news.

09-Jan-2007 - 18:00z:

As it were predicted, the expedition has begun at the predicted local time, 00:00 of the 10th of January. They are on 14.195 and 7.005, but they say the propagation seems not to be good.
At the present time, the internet server is off of service, they hope to have it on into the next hours.

Early in the morning, they have pick-up the plane right to Bangladesh, but
due to the fog in the Dhaka airport, the team inform us that they must remain in Madras (VU) and the estimated arrival time to the capital city of Bangladesh will be tomorrow 8th at 16:00z.

Day of departure is approaching and we are working hard prepearing and packing all antennas and equipments.If everything is OK, we'll take our plane next January, 7. We'll arrive at Dhaka, our destiny, at 2.00 a.m., local time, January,8.During the 8th and 9th January we'll install all antennas and equipment iso as to have all the 3 stations ready.
