WHY IOTA NA-122?

Although the Dominican Republic perhaps is not one of the most demanded entities of the DXCC, it offers the possibility of combining one of our two hobbies: radio & relax. This is a country that we have already wanted to visit for a long time and finally we have decided to do it. But we don't want to forget our radio at home, so we think that activating an IOTA reference would be a good choice.

Suprisingly, the Dominican Republic only has a reference for all its external islands, NA-122, besides the mainland IOTA reference (NA-096). We have chosed to operate from Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado Hotel, which is situated in Cayo Levantado island, a small key situated on the entry of Samana Peninsula, which is less than 1 km lon and it takes less than 15 minutes to cross the island.

Cayo Levantado is a tropical island, full of tropical vegetation, and it is said that it has one of the best beaches and waters of Dominican Republic...... the PARADISE???.... who knows!!!
